Assurance Specialist – Permanent
Construction and Specialist Trades Industry Skills Board

Play an integral role in assuring the quality and consistency of vocational education across Aotearoa New Zealand’s Construction and Specialist Trades sector. As part of a small, high‑performing team, this work will see you help shape a future‑ready workforce.
About the role
- Ensure programmes and assessment meet national standards and sector expectations.
- Strengthen quality, equity, and cultural responsiveness across qualifications and assessment practice.
- Work with providers, assessors, employers, and sector experts to support consistent, high‑quality delivery.
What you will do
- Review assessment materials and outcomes, producing clear and defensible reports.
- Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities across programmes and assessment practice.
- Support ‘system’ improvement through reflection, continuous development, and innovation.
- Build effective relationships with providers, assessors, employers, and industry bodies.
- Provide Assurance insights and expertise to support engagement and qualification development.
What you will bring
- Experience in vocational education and training, assessment, and moderation and quality assurance.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in working with diverse stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- An ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Competency with the MS Office Suite.
