Te āhua o Te Tūrunga – The nature of the position

Is your dream job finding out about what other people do in their jobs? We are looking for a Qualifications Development Facilitator to do just that in an existing team. This role involves engaging with industry and providers to develop and maintain a range of qualifications, standards, micro-credentials and other products to support vocational education for our diverse range of sectors.

Proven experience in design and development of qualifications, standards and/or programmes for vocational education is essential, while knowledge of NZQA quality assurance systems is also beneficial. Competency in and commitment to te reo Māori me ōna tikanga including mātauranga Māori (Māori language, customs, protocols and knowledge) are equally valued.

You will be able to manage multiple projects to deadlines, including facilitating diverse groups (both face-to-face and online) to produce products that ensure our sectors have confidence in the skills of graduates. This will require translating complex technical concepts for both industry and education experts to ensure robust and informed discussion.

This role can be based remotely or in our Wellington office.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong analytical, writing, and editing skills
  • Knowledge and experience of the NZQCF and the secondary or tertiary education sector
  • Ability to operate in te ao Māori and a diverse range of New Zealand contexts, including vocational and kaupapa Māori education systems
  • Passion for the creative, electrotechnology and information technology sectors
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage self to work both independently and within a team
  • Perseverance, stamina and are solution focused
  • A passion to give voice to te ao Māori in vocational education.
