About the Transport Industry Skills Board
The Transport Industry Skills Board (T-ISB) is Aotearoa's dedicated Industry Skills Board for the transport sectors — including road transport, logistics, supply chain, aviation, maritime, rail, and associated services. We work closely with industry, training providers, government agencies, and the Tertiary Education Commission to ensure vocational education and workforce development are aligned with current and future workforce needs.
We're a collaborative, kaupapa-driven organisation committed to equitable outcomes, Te Tiriti excellence, and ensuring industry plays a leading role in shaping workforce capability across New Zealand.
About the Role
As a Strategic Analyst, you'll play a central role in the Transport ISB's workforce intelligence function. You'll collect, analyse, and interpret labour market and workforce data to identify current and emerging skills needs across the transport sector.

You'll also work closely with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and colleagues across the Industry Skills Board network to ensure our insights are robust, relevant, and impactful.
This role offers a unique opportunity to combine data analysis, research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic project work in an organisation that is helping to reshape vocational education and workforce development across Aotearoa.

- Engage with industry bodies, employers, training providers, and government agencies to gather insights and communicate findings in accessible ways.
- Contribute to and lead strategic projects and cross-ISB initiatives that support workforce development outcomes across New Zealand.
- Build and continuously improve reporting frameworks, dashboards, and business intelligence capability across the organisation.

- Adaptability and resilience in a changing environment.
- Understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge of, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to workforce development.

- Experience in labour market analysis, workforce planning, economic research, or policy analysis.
- Knowledge of the transport, logistics, infrastructure, or vocational education sectors.
- Experience using Power BI or similar data visualisation tools.
- Familiarity with Stats NZ, Infometrics, IDI, or other workforce and economic datasets.
